The story is plenty faithful to the screenplay to Exorcist the Beginning though I did find it neat that they developed more around to what happened to Merrin in World War II, if anything some of Schrader's original script seemed intact around these scenes/5(8).

It was a fairly straight forward adaptation from the book, not too much was omitted. The significance of Merrin finding the idol of Pazuzu at the beginning was lacking in my opinion, but other than that, the movie held true. The Verdict. This is tough. The movie has a special place in my heart.
